We treat every project as a unique opportunity to assemble the right composers and musicians to do the job as well as we can. Commissioned music doesn't need to be expensive. So you call the tune.

library music

Exclusively for commercial use, library tracks can be a cost effective solution for many campaigns. Both MCPS and buyout libraries are available at LBS, together with a selection of our own material. We can also deal with the licensing paperwork for you.

If you plan to use commercially released music you will need licences from both the publisher and the record company. Commission LBS to re-record the track, structuring it to suit your project and you will avoid the need for a record company licence. Alternatively we can record a parody, freeing you from costly copyright implications. LBS will negotiate copyright clearance on your behalf and give you any help and advice you need.

Attention grabbing ideas. We love dreaming them up. The business of turning a brief into an entertaining and effective commercial is at the heart of what we do. LBS have close working relationships with the radio stations and direct clients for whom we write copy and we'd be happy to discuss your next brief with you. If your scripts are already written but you need help getting them cleared for transmission by the RACC or Clearcast, just ask us. We can also advise on controversial subject matter before its submission.

There are thousands of voice artists out there and sometimes it can be difficult to see the wood for the trees. LBS can help. Whatever the criteria: vocal style, versatility, language, or budget, we can match the right voices to your script. LBS have links to agents worldwide and extensive experience of working with leading voice artists.

remote studio links

We can record in real time from studios around the world or just around the corner. The use of ISDN lines has revolutionised commercial production by freeing you from geographical limitations. In simple terms, high quality audio can be sent and received in real time down ISDN lines between similarly equipped studios. In even simpler terms, it means voice overs can be in a studio almost anywhere, and you can record them live, and to broadcast quality. They can hear you too. Marvellous.
Source Connect is even easier to describe. It does everything that ISDN can, but down a broadband line.
At LBS, we have three ISDN lines, linked to a collection of codecs as well as Source Connect, so we're compatible with almost everyone.

The effects are stored digitally and can be accessed by all our studios. A three legged elephant swimming the Channel in fog is one of our favourites.
